Getting things cosy…
Getting things cosy…
The sun peeped through the curtains and tickled Adam's nose.
Adam opened his eyes. He had slept all cosy and warm in his little bed.
"Alhamdulillah!" said Adam. Thank You, Allah, for my cosy bed.
Down the stairs came Adam, bump, bump, bump. Mummy poured his milk, cold and white and yummy. "Thank you, Mummy!" Glug, glug, glug!
"Alhamdulillah!" said Adam. Thank You, Allah, for my milk.
After breakfast, Adam played in the garden. A little red ladybird landed on his finger. Crawl, crawl, crawl went her tiny legs. Then off she flew. Bye-bye, ladybird!
"Alhamdulillah!" laughed Adam. Thank You, Allah, for ladybirds.
At lunchtime there was warm soup and soft bread. "Bismillah!" said Adam, and he dipped his bread in the soup. Yum, yum, yum, went Adam's tummy.
"Alhamdulillah!" said Adam. Thank You, Allah, for my lunch.
In the afternoon, Daddy came home. He swung Adam up, up, up in the air! Adam giggled and giggled.
"Alhamdulillah!" giggled Adam. Thank You, Allah, for my Daddy.
At bathtime there were bubbles — on his hands, on his tummy, even one on his nose!
"Alhamdulillah!" said Adam. Thank You, Allah, for bubbles.
Then it was bedtime. Adam snuggled under his blanket with Teddy. Mummy kissed his head, soft as a butterfly.
"You said Alhamdulillah all day long," whispered Mummy. "Do you know what it means? It means all the praise and all the thank-yous are for Allah. He gave us every single lovely thing."
Adam hugged Teddy tight and shut his sleepy eyes.
"Alhamdulillah," he whispered. Thank You, Allah… for everything.
And Adam fell fast asleep, with a smile on his face and thank-yous in his heart.
Every lovely thing in your day — milk, a ladybird, a swing from Daddy, bubbles — is a gift from Allah. Saying Alhamdulillah is how our hearts say thank You.
Because every little heart deserves a real answer.
Alhamdulillah means 'all praise and thanks belong to Allah'. Adam said it for all his little gifts — his bed, his milk, a ladybird, his Daddy.
Allah gave you every lovely thing, and He is pleased when you say Alhamdulillah. Saying it fills your heart up warm and happy, like sunshine inside.
You can play Adam's game tomorrow! Every time something makes you smile — yummy food, a big hug, a bubbly bath — say 'Alhamdulillah!' and see how many you can find.
